Spiral structure adhesive
The adhesive on the Assura/Alterna 1-piece colostomy bags consists of two different adhesives that are layered and rolled into a unique spiral structure. One layer provides for adhesive power, and the other absorbs moisture from the skin. The oval shape of the skin barrier provides a flexible cutting area and increased adhesiveness at the sides and below the ostomy where it is needed most. To eliminate “fall over” of the bag, and to increase the capacity without enlarging the bag, the skin barrier is placed at the top of the bag.

Integrated filter
On all bags there is a 3-layer filter providing effective and continuous gas filtration, which also contributes to a longer wear time. The airflow through the filter makes ballooning less frequent and eliminates unpleasant odour.

Anatomical design
The shape of the bag is anatomical, making it even more discreet and comfortable to wear. The soft clothlike front and back dries quickly after showering and swimming.
